Summer Vacation 2015: Silverton And Durango!!!

Hello Silverton and Durango...we haven't forgotten about you...saved the best for last! Well folks...today was our last day on vacation. Jeff did his morning hike again...the "Cross Mountain" trail...and he took stunning photos. We he returned...it was time to head on up to our favorite places...good ol' Silverton and Durango! Along the way to Silverton, we did our "James Ranch," pit stop, and had, once again, the most insanely delicious, unbeatable, freakin fantastic burgers! I'm telling ya people...this is a MUST stop! Do it. Do it now. You tell em Julie Stafford sent ya! When we arrived in Silverton, I was beyond excited when I saw my one and only favorite antique store, open for business! "Adelaine's" antique store had burned (no thanks to a grease fire from the restaurant next store), four years ago...and June 1st, the owner opened her doors once again! We thought that wouldn't happen, since it had been four years. She was very sweet, and her new interior, was sticking with the decade the building was built, in the year 1901. Between James Ranch and my antique store stop, I was set! But our day didn't stop there. It was a stunning day, with dramatic thunderheads forming, and, yes, we did get a thunderstorm, while we were on our way back from Silverton, hanging out in Durango. Of course we stopped at the D&SNG Railroad Depot, and watch the steamer return. It was raining and thundering. Summer is here! I took pictures of our drive back to our trailer (the countryside on hwy 184 and our Priest Gulch hwy 145...is absolutely scenic with people's farm/ranch lands. This vacation was what we all needed. Desperately. I know having a trailer, and being able to see and stay at some of the most beautiful places, is a blessing, and not to be taken for granted. I pray the good Lord blesses us with travel mercies and grace...and we arrive at our home safe and sound tomorrow.
