Well I'll be...here is the latest...

The kids are better, but still have their mucus coughs. Jeff has been sick all week with the fever, chills, cough, congestion (all the good stuff). I have managed to stay healthy...until now...it is happening as we speak. This late afternoon has suddenly felt like I am going down hill fast. I am exhausted, throat hurts, sneezing a lot more than usual, and of course my ears hurt. I shall keep tract of this...maybe all I need is a good nights sleep. Oh brother.

Now little girl is sick...oh no...here we go again.

Yes it is true. Samantha started coughing yesterday, and we thought Kent was doing better yesterday; so we took an afternoon walk to get some fresh air...maybe that was a mistake, because as the night progressed, Kent got worse again with another fever, and Samantha wasn't looking too good. This morning she has the darkest circles under her eyes (still that way) and has a runny nose, cough and yes, a fever of 100.6. Not super high, but enough to where she is down and out. I have been feeling "questionable" since last night as well. So much so that I slept until 10:00am this morning. I was so bummed because our kids are sick, I feel not 100%, it is Sunday and I was scheduled to work. Fortunately, as I was about to get ready for work, Joy (my favorite charge nurse) called me and asked how I would feel if I was to be cancelled today. I said I would love it because I have two sick kids at home. Wow. Talk about a good time to be cancelled. So I get to stay home today. A blessing.

One sick little man :o(

Mr. Kent has been sick for a day and a half now. When I was at work yesterday, Jeff informed me that Kent's cough is worse and that he wasn't eating dinner. When I got home he felt pretty warm, so I gave him some medicine. This morning he looked horrible and sounded the same. I took his temp and he had a fever of 102.8. Bummer. I immediately called the doctor and placed cold wash cloths and gave him Tylenol for his fever. I took him into the doctors office, and she said he has the flu; but to watch for any kind of progression with his cough and fever. He has not been below 100 degrees yet. I just took his temp and it is 101.7. Still high, but better than 102.8! So he has been resting, eating and drinking a little; but he is clearly not feeling well. Poor little man.

Okay, so we have Jeff's steam engine, which he is currently working very hard on...looking good isn't it? Also Jeff holding a piece for his engine that he cut (not a easy thing to do with steel). We have the kids swinging on the "tree" swing...enjoying the late afternoon sun; and then of course a picture of me, taken by me. Don't I look cool? Sure. Don't we always feel funny taking a picture of ourselves. Yes we do ;o>

My Sweet Law-Dog

I got my new phone yesterday early evening; but I didn't have to go get it...my wonderful, thoughtful husband called me and asked if I would like him to pick it up, on his way home from the laundromat. How absolutely sweet was that?! He got it for me. That was a very selfless act on his part, because I knew he had a busy and difficult day at the laundromat. Jeff is one outstanding man and I am so blessed to have him as my husband.

A little venting...

What is it with waiting for a little package to arrive that needs your signature; and you go out of the house for an hour and miss FED EX?! So...what am I talking about? I ordered a new phone (nothing fancy, just a new phone); and I have been tracking it to make sure I would be home to sign for it. No kidding, not but maybe five minutes after I drove away; apparently Fed Ex saw an opportunity to deliver my package, or no wait, tease me and frustrate me is more like it. So I got the notice of "attempted delivery" and just couldn't believe it. I called up Fed Ex and asked them why they told me it would be around 4:30 today and instead they go for 10:40 am. I looked at the tracking before I left home and it still showed it was in Phoenix, about ready to be back in transit. The guy could clearly hear how annoyed I was, so he gave me attitude as well. All I asked is that they stay more current in the tracking information, because they can't expect people to just sit and wait hoping their packages arrive on time. We do have lives that include leaving the house; if that is possible.

Okay. So, I have to go pick up my package at the Fed Ex building in Flagstaff after 5:00pm today. I was just there too.

My venting is over. But I know many of you can relate to this little piece of annoying drama that won't be important tomorrow, just right now.

P.S. Jeff was right all along. When I told him I left the house, he said I was going to miss my phone delivery. I told him, oh no, it is still leaving Phoenix right now, so I should be okay. He wasn't buying it because he knew this would happen. Somebody give Jeff a trophy, because he always seems to be right with these things! ;0>

My brother is so awesome and talented!

My brother got to shoot the Palm Springs Film Festival last night for his news station, CBS in Palm Springs. He is the one holding the camera in one of the pictures; and the first photo, he is the one on the left. How amazing he is! His channel 2 news is lucky to have him. Joshua gets to experience so many great things with this job. The number one person he was so looking forward to seeing...Natalie Portman, and he did! Joshua said he was standing on the same platform as she, and of course, was filming her. A couple of other photos taken, one with the actor Jake Gyllenhall (as Joshua is filming) and another photo of actor Mark Wahlberg.

I can't get enough of these movies.

When ever Father of the Bride I or II comes on TV; I can't help myself, I have to watch them! I have seen these movies time and time again; but they are wonderful, light-hearted films. I always laugh and feel good watching them. I miss these types of good movies. There are too many annoying films out there, that have become too raunchy or try too hard to overcome the already accomplished movies. That is just my opinion. Jeff is so funny...he walks in the living room and says, "You're watching this again? Haven't you seen this enough?" The answer is, well no I haven't :o)

I am in the mood for Cracker Barrel pancakes.

I was just talking to Dad Jenkins and he got me back on to wanting pancakes. We talked about pancakes the other night too. The Cracker Barrel pancakes. The yummy crispy, caramelized edges; with the warm individual syrup bottles. I want some pancakes now please.

Back to school day for Mr. Kent!

Christmas break is finally over for Kent. Jeff and I were looking forward to this day. Kent needs school just as much as we need him in school :o) He gets all of his energy out there and learns up a storm. He appreciates home and us more too. All positive things!

I go back to work tomorrow. Days off go by way too fast. Why is that?! Speaking of tomorrow...my cousin Ashley (actually, she is my sister-cousin) has her 22nd birthday! Wow. She was 14 when Jeff and I got married...which leads me to our engagement...that also happened on the 4th of January...count them...EIGHT YEARS AGO! Ah, so very sweet. Our wedding anniversary is just a few months away already...Hello March 8th! Good times.

Jeff and I are planning to take our trailer out to the desert in the next few weeks. We are thinking Tucson, and making a day trip to Tombstone. We haven't been to Tombstone in almost eight years. We love our winter desert camping! Arizona deserts in the winter are so breathtaking, and you are not dying in the heat.

2011 and oh the temperatures!

Jeff and I were talking last night how we really are looking forward to this new year of 2011, because even though 2010 had plenty of good moments and memories; it also carried some of the worse.

On another note...it got down to -16.5 degrees last night! Yesterday's high was only 11.2 degrees! Wow. I know everybody is experiencing cooler temps...BUT -16.5 DEGREES?! Yes. It is true.

Last night my best friend Adi got to stay over due to her work schedule being inconvenient...so I got to ring in the new year with her. I just love Adi. Before she arrived, Jeff and I were watching the Back to the Future movies marathon on AMC. You got to love it all!

My fingers are cold typing. I need to go back over by the fire...so goodbye for now :o)
