We got home from our Crestline weekend...

It is late and I am not going to have a large post tonight; but tomorrow I will write about our weekend and I have just a couple of pictures. Lets just say...to keep you interested...think snow, power, large tree branches. To be continued tomorrow...

It looks like a 100% of static electricity in the air today; with another 100% chance in the foreseeable future. Not lets take it back to you Samantha...can you let us know how it feels to be in the heart of static electricity?... ;0)

About ready to call it a night...

It's a Monday night and I was put on stand by my whole shift. Lets just say...I wasn't too upset about that. However, when you are put on stand by, you can't really do anything, because a call to come in, could happen at any time. I work tomorrow and then I have some good days off...YES!

We have snow. 12 inches I believe. It has been very cold too. It is good to have it, for our trees and lakes, dams, etc. but ready for Spring, like I have said before. Good times Spring, good times.

Mr. Kent is still sick. He got sick Friday afternoon, and can't seem to shake this cough. Poor little man. What does this mean? Another round for the family? Oh dear Lord I hope not.

Jeff went to the laundromat today...in a hurry...because I was supposed to work today, and he had to come back home for that to happen. Poor man had to rush, but it is all good. He got done what he was supposed to do.

Last note...we have a new computer. Our other "DELL" laptop crashed. I repeat, crashed. That is the second time we have had our computers crash. Our first one was with our "DELL" desk top a couple years ago. Finally the laptop had it. Jeff had to purchase a new one at Best Buy and I think we got ourselves a better computer for what we need...another laptop, better brand. It is nice to type on. Good keys, good keys :o>

Happy Valentine's Day and Jeff's Birthday celebration (early)!

Jeff bought me these roses and the way he gave them to me was wonderful...*story*...I called Jeff after my ultrasound appointment this morning; and he was on his way to the laundromat. I am talking to him on the phone and then suddenly the call drops. So I call him again, only not getting through. As I am waiting for him to pick up , I see a male figure standing next to the passenger side window of the truck (freaks me out). Then I looked up and it was Jeff! Smiling at me, and holding up the dozen red roses! I was so amazed. He surprised me big time because he should have been on the road already. That was very sweet of him, and made the roses that much more special.

So speaking of the ultrasound...I have a cyst on my left ovary. The tech said that could be what's causing my uncomfortable "pressure" down there and the constant left side cramp. I was told to monitor the cramps and pressure and if they don't go away within four weeks, I have to make another appointment so they can check it out again. We don't want it to get any bigger or multiply! It was a quick appointment, and at least I got that much information back.

I decided to celebrate Jeff's birthday this evening, instead of his actual birthday, this Weds., the 16th. Because I have to work that day and that is no fun what so ever! I cooked a mesquite BBQ marinaded pork tenderloin; scalloped potatoes, corn and fresh fruit. For dessert... I baked the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (his favorite, in terms of cake). It was all delicious and he really appreciated it all. Oh yeah...I forgot, before the cake...he got to open his presents! He made out this year! He deserves to be spoiled too. Jeff does so much for me and our family; I just love him dearly. The evening was a hit! Good times.

Wickenburg weekend!

First stop was to go to our laundromat so Jeff could do a collection and make sure all was well. It looked really nice and clean inside. It was good for me to see it again. Makes me appreciate it more. Jeff has been doing a great job running and maintaining it. Then it was off to Wickenburg. We actually camped out in the middle of the desert, between the Vulture Mine and Wickenburg. It was a beautiful site and super quite at night. There were actually a lot of people camping all over the desert because it was Wickenburg's "Gold Rush Days." We barbecued both nights. First night hot dogs and chips; and our second night we had huge ribeye steaks and potatoes! Oh man, the juiciest steak I have ever barbecued; and we cooked the potatoes on the charcoal grill too. Fantastic! On Saturday we woke up and got ready and took a walk around the surrounding area, where we camped. Then we went to the Vulture Mine and Ghost town. It was so great to see... about six years ago since we were last there. A lot of the structures have fallen down since then, but still amazing to see. That is one of the best ghost towns in Arizona; a lot of stuff still all around, inside and outside of the buildings. The first structure is the Assay building. That was available to walk through six years ago; but it is seriously falling apart, so they had to block it off. The big "Glory Hole" mine shaft (photo with the collapsing mine shaft structure) goes 3000 feet deep at a constant 35 degree angle all the way down; and there were 7 men and 12 donkeys that died down there. The mine caved in on them (bodies never recovered), and the men were actually trying to rob the mine. They had it coming, but those poor donkeys! The "hanging tree" has seen 18 men hung on it. That is a lot of hangings! It looks old and creepy. That structure right next to the tree where it shows the frame of the door, was Henry Wickenburg's first house. How convenient, next to the hanging tree. I took a picture of a cafe style building, where all the miners would go to eat. That is the original stove and pans on top. Also the pantry hutch is original, ,and the sink. Pretty awesome. We had a blast walking all around the town. As you can also see, pictures of a blacksmith shop, machine shop, a "ball mill" that made steel balls to grind up the ore. We then headed into the town to try to walk around, but there were so many people, we just wanted to leave. We will come back again anyway, to see the shops and historic parts in the old downtown. So then we headed over to a nature conservatory that has the Hassayampa River flowing through it (that would be the water pictures with the most clear water flowing). That is so gorgeous down there. We had a full busy weekend with lots of sightseeing and walking. Now we are home :o)

Samantha could not make it out here after all, because she got sick. So hopefully another time soon!

Health, appointments and upcoming camping trip!

Had my "womanhood" appointment today....getting somethings checked out...have to return on Monday morning for an ultrasound (no, I am NOT pregnant). It is regards to something else going on, that we are trying to figure out. Great. Also discovered that I have a growing mole with black spots on it, on my back. I was informed today at my appointment that I need to make an appointment with a dermatologist to have it looked at because it isn't a "normal" looking mole. Sure. Why not add that to the plate. One more thing...I am getting a wisdom tooth in! Yeah. Craziest timing! So my lower teeth are moving around.

On another topic...Jeff is super cute. He is so looking forward to our little camping trip this weekend to Wickenburg. I will be cleaning the bedding tomorrow and buying some supplies to load it up in our trailer, because we head out Friday morning! First stop that day, our laundromat. Jeff has to make a collection and make sure all is well, and me and the kids will be hanging out until he is done. I haven't been to the laundromat in forever! So it will be good to see our little business. I will be taking pictures of our break this weekend. We are so looking forward for some warmer temps down there too! It will be good to get out :o)

Also...Samantha (Joshua's girlfriend) will be coming out here Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning for a short visit. How sweet is she?! Samantha is so willing to drive out here for a quick turn around trip, all because she misses us, as we miss her too. So I am very happy to have her out here in a few days. I just love that lady!

Hello...here I am...

Recovering from the flu. Was out of work this week, went to the doctor to get some meds, and feeling better each day (finally). I go back to work on Sunday. What an annoying sickness! Our family has been consumed by it for over two weeks; and we are all finally getting healthy again.

Jeff has been working long hours on his steam engine. He keeps saying "summer 2011" steam up will happen. I do think it will happen. So much determination to get something done. It is nice that he can do what he loves everyday.

The kids are doing well. Running around like crazy people (the usual).

I am ready for spring. Yes. Ready for it. We haven't had much of a winter, except for some really freezing days; but overall, it has been mild, like a prelude to spring...so let it happen!

I think next weekend we are hoping to take our trailer out for a camping trip out to Wickenburg. Haven't been there since Kent was just six months old! We enjoyed that place and of course they have the awesome preserved "Vulture Mine."
