Something bittersweet...

As with moving, comes happiness with a little bit of sadness. Jeff started literally collapsing the trestle part of the railroad (now that all the rails are off). This is sad because it took him so long to build; but exciting because Jeff will be building a brand new railroad on our 3 acres of land! So, bittersweet. It is also freezing outside, and snow flurries all around. Still packing (of course)! Kent keeps saying how happy he is moving to the pine trees. He loves trees. Kent knows his trees. How many of you know what a sugar pine tree looks like? Pinon pine, ponderosa pine, blue spruce, etc. Kent learns from his daddy:)

What a mess our home has become! Once Christmas came and went...everything Christmas came down and packing the house up started. It is so time consuming and exhausting...but also very exciting. There is an echo in the house with all of the walls empty. Jeff has been taking down the railroad; talk about a big job! This is all a process, but a rewarding one. It is so special that this house we are moving to, is the first home Jeff and I picked out together, since being married:) Ahhh, how sweet.

You better watch out, you better not pout...

The kids got to see Santa Claus yesterday. As you can see by the picture...they were quite chill. So funny. Grandma and Papa Wenzel took them out for the day while Jeff and I went Christmas shopping for the kids and then we went to see "The Christmas Carol." That was a fantastic movie! We loved how they would say "Merry Christmas," "God Bless," and there was a focus on a cross above a church. Gorgeous. We wouldn't show the kids that movie yet, however, because it is pretty scary for young children. It is truly amazing how real and authentic they made everything. After the movie Jeff and I went to the Beaver Street Brewery. We love to go there when we can. They have great brick-fired pizzas and the most tasty beer. They do make their beers (which is why it is called a brewery, hahaha). It was a wonderful date:)

The grades have been posted!

I woke up to a lovely surprise this morning...I checked my grades for this just finished semester. And they are...Math: B, English: A, and the most annoying, challenging, frustrating class (also known as Biology...B! I feel so blessed! I had A LOT of prayers going on that entire semester! So that is my early Christmas present!

Jeff and I plan on going to see "The Christmas Carol" this afternoon, before it leaves the theater. We have been wanting to see this movie since the promotional train came through Williams, back in May? I can't remember if it was May or April. Anyway...we loved going through the train seeing all of the behind the scenes stuff. After the movie we plan on Christmas shopping for the kidlets. It is our only chance to get them done; because my folks are staying over to watch them for a night. It will be great to see my Dad (aka Buddy) because I haven't seen him in over two months!

Also...today is Brother Mark's 40TH BIRTHDAY! So Happy Birthday Mark! You don't look a day over 35;) We love you!

"Baby, It's Cold Outside"

We have received 2 ft. of snow during that storm that was here Monday/Tuesday. It is beautiful and freakin' cold outside! Fortunately school was cancelled Tuesday, so my English instructor allowed us to take our final online. My math and biology finals are now Thursday, tomorrow. Ready to take care of business!

So for those of you that know (or don't, but now do) about us moving to Parks, AZ., we took a couple pictures of the house and surrounding area yesterday. A nice winter drive. There are also some pictures of the house that came from the listing site. Parks is located between Williams and Flagstaff. It is about 12 min. from the first exit in Flagstaff. Very nice to be moving closer...due to school and one day work. Also the kids will be in a better school district in Parks. It is still rural, but like I said, closer to everything. The house sits in 3 acres. County maintained roads (a huge positive). It is an older manufactured house, around 1750 sq. ft. There is some face-lifting procedures on the inside, but nothing too drastic. We will be making it home. There is a huge covered back deck and a covered front cemented patio. A super nice horseshoe pit, which is now sitting under snow:) The grounds are very well maintained. Lots and lots of pine trees! Also, elevation is 7050'. So we will be moving in starting Jan.5th. A nice time to move, in the cold snow...hahaha! But it works! We will get the job done. Also for those of you wondering what we plan on doing with our current house? We will be renting it out starting Feb. 1st. It's a good property for an income. I will be continuing to post our journey with moving and all. Crazy good times!

A cozy fire, kids, and bust out the LGB around the tree!

Yesterday we got our Christmas tree, and it wasn't without a challenge! We are all about the Noble Fir trees, because they look so luscious and smell like Christmas! We went to Allen's Tree Farm (a lot in Flagstaff, pre-cut trees), because we got our tree there last year and it was beautiful. Well this year, they didn't look so healthy and with not much to chose from. So we go to Warner's Nursery. We bought trees there before too. Well, we get there and look around and all the trees looked so dry and almost dead green. So forget that! What was going on with our selections?! So we decided to go to Home Depot, and sure enough they had the freshest Noble Firs around! So that is where we got our family's 2009 Christmas tree. It is a little unique, with the pointy top missing (it is rather flat on top) but Jeff took care of that by purchasing a star that lights up! We love trees that have a little quirk to them:) Last night we decorated it, and Jeff and the kids put the LGB train around the tree. They loved it and were so happy! They got to stay up late last night, because it was a special night putting our tree and train together. Good times.

On another note...we are supposed to get a massive snow storm Monday. They are talking feet of snow. Any other time I would be thinking how wonderful...but not this time. Why? FINALS! I have them Tuesday and Thursday! What is going to happen, I have no idea. So we shall see.
