Summer Vacation 2015: Colorado Days!
When we left our house, yesterday afternoon, and drove through the reservation to make our way to Colorado we noticed how amazingly green the reservation was/is...it was the greenest (we think) ever. Everything looks so alive and well, thanks to our spring storms we had. The Navajo reservation never looked so good! Last night, we arrived in Cortez, CO., and stayed one night at the KOA. I cooked us some burgers, we sat by the fire and roasted some marshmallows...then off to sleep! It was a very nice and clean KOA...and we had a good stay there. Today we arrived at our destination, "Priest Gulch RV Campground." It feels great to be back. It's absolutely stunning here, with everything so lush and green! Water everywhere! Love the San Juans! Our river site is awesome! To be able and back up this close to the river is so peaceful. Opening up the trailer windows...you just hear that flowing water. After getting set up, we relaxed a bit, at our site, before taking a little drive up towards Lizard Head pass. We full on hit a big thunderstorm with pea sized hail. The local plow had to get out and clear the road from all of it! Thunder, lightning, hail, rain...hello monsoon season! Good times!
