Father's Day Weekend With Pappy
Friday after work, the kids and I went down to Chino, to pick up Pappy (he has been down there with Aunt Julie, and I wanted him up for the weekend). We really enjoyed our time with him, some quality time. I cooked dinner, ice cream was a must, because, hello, we are talking about Pappy here. Saturday Jeff had to work, and Samantha went to her friend, Liam's birthday party, so Pappy, Kent and I headed into Flag. Stopped in a couple of stores (Cal Ranch included), and had lunch at the Cracker Barrel...then came back home. In the early evening, Jeff took Kent to the Grand Canyon Railway Depot, to take a sunset ride, that was about and hour and fifteen minutes long. That's what Jeff wanted to do, since 4960 was steamed up for Williams Train Day. The two of them had a blast, and encountered a dramatic train ride, with being a baby cow almost got hit by the train (within a couple of inches, literally), and deer being on the track. Good grief! While they were off doing that, Pappy and I hung out and watched "Legends of the Fall." Love that movie, and still one of my top five favorite movie scores. Today, Jeff received his Father's Day cards and gifts, from the kiddos and I. Law-Dog is loved. Aunt Julie came up and visited for over an hour, then she took Pappy back down to Chino. It was a nice weekend. Sure love that Pappy.
