Summer Vacation 2014: Rico, Telluride, Sneffels Range: Day 4!!!

What a day, what a day! We enjoyed the morning at our camp spot, by that Dolores River...and then headed on out for a drive. Our first stop, was an old mining town called, Rico. Super small, but had charm. I took pictures of an old building, part of the town, and an old head frame by a creek. We continued on hwy 145, past Lizard Head Pass, and Trout Lake (where we took a picture of our favorite water tank and old wooden trestle, for the Rio Grande Southern), and on down to Telluride. We actually spent a lot of time in Telluride this time around...due to the fact that the town wasn't super busy, and we had more time to stay in Telluride, when our campground is only 40 miles away. We experienced something new too...taking a FREE ride up the gondola! That was so much fun, and we never knew it was free all this time! We had wind, and clouds, which added to the excitement on our ride up the slopes! We walked the town and some neighborhoods as well. I love the old cute homes and buildings. After our time in Telluride, we took a drive to see the Sneffels Range. The clouds were kind of in the way of the view, but it added another aspect to the range. It was just a stunning day! When we got back to our trailer, I cooked us some cheese enchiladas for dinner. Yum! We took our routine evening walk around the campground, and confirmed, that the Rio Grande Southern Railroad, did come right through this campground. I took a picture of a Jeff standing on the grade. I love history!!! Now it's time to be sitting by the fire, by the river time!
