Summer Vacation 2013: Day One: Lake Powell

We arrived at Lake Powell, yesterday, Wednesday, June 26th. It was in the afternoon; so after we unhooked the truck; turned on our air conditioner (hello it was 104 yesterday); and changed to our swim suits...it was time to experience Lake Powell. The last time we were here, it was January, and frickin' cold! This time, it's frickin' hot...so jumping in that clear water, was just what we all needed! We must of stayed in the water, for well over an hour, and it was so much fun! We actually went to a perfect beach, Lone Rock, where the sand was super fine, and the kids could walk out a little ways (safely). Yes, even Jeff got in the water and was swimming like a fish! He explored a little canyon area, where the water was super deep. I was so relaxed...I have missed swimming. The kids were loving it too! We had our noodles to float with...it was a good time. Give us a clean lake any day, over a swimming pool! Once we finished up swimming, we came in, cleaned up, and had some dinner. By sunset, we took a little drive to check out this wonderful lake...then it was time to sit at our site, and have our little propane fire pit going, to enjoy the evening. We love that propane fire pit (portable of course)...when you don't want the heat of a large wood fire, and trust me...we didn't want the heat...with it still being in the 80s. It was ambiance. Today's trip (day #2)...we head to Richfield, Utah; and staying at the KOA there. This is new territory for us, have not been to Richfield, Utah...so looking forward to it!
