Chickens Eating Cat Food.

Hello, and a happy rainy Saturday too you all. I don't have any pictures to post today, so this is just me writing about what in the world has been going on! As you have read the title, yes, that is true. We have a stray cat, that has adopted us. He/she showed up around Christmas. I am not one of those individuals that will let an animal starve, so I have been feeding it, and here it stays. This poor cat was looking like it was about ready to die, until it got food and shelter (outside that is). I am by no means a cat person. Dog all the way. Plus allergies, hello. So this is why we have cat food sitting outside, on our back deck. Well yesterday, the chickens wandered up on the deck (shelter from all this rain), and discovered some yummy looking food. They chowed down. Normally this isn't something to write home about, but what do you think is one of the main ingredients in this cat food? Say it isn't so...but alas...it's true...CHICKEN. Clearly they like the taste of cat food chicken. Ewe.The chickens didn't seem to mind, but I was kind of bothered by it. That's the risk of leaving cat food out, my chickens will notice. They do eat about anything after all.

Yes it is raining and it has been raining for a couple days now. This is very unusual for us, living at 7050 elevation, in the winter. It feels like Crestline out there! Tree rain and all. Ha. Snow is what likes to fall from our sky; but this tropical storm has given us rain! It is melting the snow, and that means more water to fill up wells, lakes, reservoirs, etc. We are supposed to get a snow storm Sunday night into Monday. I hope we get so good accumulation. We need more snow.

Jeff still has a cold. He had it since Tuesday, so he is kind of bummed. After last weekend of fun and camping , this weekend he is sick. He'll be fine though, because at least it isn't the flu!

The kids are doing well. Enjoying the weekend with the rain. Kent is obsessed with the weather once again. He said a couple of days ago, that he in fact, wants to be a weather man when he grows up. Can you see it? Oh yeah!

My friend, Angela, and I have put together a fitness blog. Actually, it's an online journal, to help us both with motivation for our goal of losing weight. Knowing other people will be aware of our weight, and goals, struggles, is what we both want and need to help motivate us. It is something that has put me out of my comfort zone (showing my body weight). I am not the type of person that wants to "share" this weakness of mine; but because I have a friend willing to do the same, and we are in this together, through thick and thin...I'm doing it! We are also incorporating our faith, fitness goals, struggles, successes, and what makes us laugh. Our themes through out this blog will also include our love for coffee, visiting with each other, making crafty items (she sews, I paint); and anything else that moves us to blog about it. This should be interesting. We have just put this blog online yesterday, so a lot of tweaking and improving is ongoing.
