We went on a drive today to Sedona. Oak Creek was totally flooded, as we expected, with all of this rain we have been receiving! The rain has been melting our snow pack, and is causing rushing streams and creeks. Oak Creek has become Oak River! I took pictures of flooded roads, and an awesome waterfall, which reminded us of Yosemite. We drove on Brewer Street in Sedona, which is a historic street in Sedona. It was the first main street in that town; and after all these years and many visits to Sedona, the first time we have been there. We also stumbled upon my new favorite shop in Arizona, tucked away on Brewer St...The Hummingbird House, originally The Hart Store, built in the year 1926. That was the first store in Sedona to have a telephone and electricity. It is Historical, and beautifully restored back in 2002. It's a charming antique/gift store...I fell in love! We had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Oaxaca; and then on our way out of town, watching the creek, I noticed a couple of kayakers, riding along the crazy flooded creek! Jeff and I were so impressed and amazed, that we watched and followed these guys for a little ways, and I managed to get some of their pictures, on the rapids of this creek, now river. I am in awe that these two individuals were conquering this flooded Oak Creek. So that was pretty cool. Now we are home, sitting by the fire, while it is still raining out there, and enjoying our Saturday evening. Good times.
