EASTERN SIERRAS WE LOVE YOU!

Let me tell you something...this has been a fantastic weekend getaway! It's hard to believe that we head home tomorrow. The first three pictures show us at Whitney Portal. It was a stunning evening last night. After we experienced the Portal, we headed back down to our campsite, and enjoyed a fire...yes.

Today was another full day! We headed up to Bishop, as our first stop was the Schat's Bakery! Talk about everybody and their mother being there! I never experienced those types of crowds, except maybe at Disneyland, waiting to ride Splash Mountain. Crazy. But I did manage to get a few things, some yummy, it will put some fat on your ass delicious goodness! No regrets here. We were all over the place again...a stop at Laws railroad museum of course! They had a little train ride going, in that Death Valley passenger car. We didn't ride it, but enjoyed watching it move. I did a part-time stint, working at the Silver Creek Saloon, in Laws, as the bartender. It pays the bills. You can see I own the place. It does really well in that town! Ha. We then headed up to another part of the Sierras, We did one serious hike along the Little Lakes trail; some John Muir wilderness areas. The lakes were clear and super blue. For dinner, we found a hole in the wall, Mexican restaurant in Bishop. It was very tasty! We were all starving from all of our hiking around the Sierras,so it hit the spot! Then I wanted to take a drive through the Alabama Hills. The boulders we were taking our pictures on and around, were indeed, the boulders from the movie, "Tremors," with Kevin Bacon in it. One of my favorite classics. For those of you that have seen the movie, we found the boulders where they were "pole-volting" over each one, before getting in the truck. Also, near the end, when they were all trying to get to the "granite" mountains, and blasting off bombs off in the desert, to kill those mother flubbers! Like I said, a classic. I finally took a couple more pictures this evening, of our Boulder Creek RV Resort, and our trailer. A good times trip people. A good times trip.
