By Golly...I think that is the remains of the Carson & Colorado Railroad grade!

We took a few drives today. Yes, the C & C R R grade was one of them. The first set of pictures shows the old grade (which to some non-railroad people, looks like a dirt road). I would like to give credit, to where credit is due...I SPOTTED the grade before Jeff did! Yes. He has trained me well :) We also drove through the little town of Independence; which is where we stopped so the kids could play at the beautiful park. We went to Bishop, to grab Jack n the crack lunch and then headed over to the Laws Railroad museum. We have been there before, but this time more buildings were open for us to actually go inside and we could imagine life in the 1800s. Of course a steam engine was parked there for viewing. They allowed us in the cab and to pull the rope for the bell to sound off like it was ready to pull into the station! We only took one picture while at the museum (I know); it was of me and the kids in front of some cool antiques with the grand Sierras in the background. It was another great day.

Jeff, unfortunately got the cold that passed through the kids and me. His is worse, and he got it on our trip. Poor Law-Dog.
Another note...there is the most AMAZING bakery in Bishop! Oh my gosh...if I lived near by I could easily be 300 lbs. I bought some cookies for the kids (some m & m cookies) and Jeff (shortbread chocolate chip), and a loaf of their famous chili cheese bread! Holy Moly! The name of the place is called, "Erick Schat's Bakkery." Jeff went their with his folks when he was a kid...so it has been around for a long time. We will be going back tomorrow on our way back through Bishop (to grab maybe a pastry or a doughnut)...our goal is to head to Mammoth and Bridgeport. Big days!

P.S. The picture of Jeff with "those" sunglasses...yeah, well his snap-on sunglasses broke; and he was desperate, so we stopped at a gas station so he could get another pair. Only they didn't have any snap-ons...so he bought those; and broke off the pieces that sit on the bridge of the nose, so they could fit over his glasses. I say stylish...don't you think? :)
