Mother's Day and A Second Place Winner!!!
I'm I am posting about Mother's Day, finally. I had a really great Mother's Day weekend. Law-Dog and the kids spoiled me. When I woke up Sunday, the kids had me go to Samantha's room, where I was greeted with a sign, which Mr. Kent wrote out for me. Then I had to follow the "trail of books," to help guide me to my Mother's Day cards. One from the kids and one from Jeff. So sweet. Then I continued on the trail of books to read another sign, which little girl wrote out for me. It was so sweet. The kids seriously though about and planned out what they were going to do for me. I love ,y little kiddos. After we got around, it was time to hop in the Mustang, and take our drive down Oak Creek Canyon, to grab a Mother's Day lunch at "Oaxaca." We do love getting to go down there, and it was really nice escaping the cold weather that we were having, and enjoy the Sedona 70 something temperatures! The day was just perfect! After our tasty lunch, we continued on our drive to Page Springs, and to the fish hatchery (which we like to visit at least once a year, in the spring time). The fish were swimming along, the sky was blue with some passing clouds, and the temperature was as pleasant as could be. When we took a walk on a path, at the hatchery, I totally stepped in a mud hole, and slid pretty good (but did not fall, thank God)! That was pretty funny and we all had a good laugh...but the good times didn't stop there! We continued on our walk, and paused to admire the flowing creek water, and suddenly I felt something hop on my leg, like bigger than an insect, but was unsure what it was. So I looked down, and it was a cute little lizard. At first I was cool, calm, and collected, but then that cute little lizard decided to start crawling up my leg...with speed. I shook that little sucker off fast! Once again, we were all laughing. How many people get a lizard crawling up their leg? Good times. After the hatchery, we hit up a Starbucks, and took our drive home through Oak Creek. It was truly the most pleasant relaxing day. Very blessed to be a mama to my two children, and wife to my Law-Dog, the love of my life. Now, on to the Second Place! I am talking about the school Science Fair! 4th-8th graders had to submit a science project, and Mr. Kent did a beach erosion project (pretty clever and interesting)! The science fair was last Thursday, voting was last Friday, and the awards were Monday (yesterday), during the morning assembly. Sure enough, Mr. Kent won 2nd place, and $25! He was shocked when his name was announced, but so cute! That boy does really well with science. We are so very proud of him! Second place in the school's science fair is amazing!
