Dead Horse! Verde River! Lagoons! Palatki Ruins!

Yesterday was a casual, drive around the Red Rock Canyon area of Sedona, and discover the Palatki Ruins. Neither Jeff nor I had ever been there, so this was new to all of us! We just barely made a guided tour (requires reservations), and a couple didn't show...so the park ranger asked if we wanted to go! Glad we did, because those ruins were awesome, and tucked up against the red rocks. The hike up there was beautiful. We then continued on the dirt road, and took in the awesome scenery that is Sedona. In the early evening, we strolled around the creek at the campground and eventually wandered over to the first of three lagoons. We sat they listening to all the birds and enjoyed the sunset. On our walk back, we stopped at the Verde River, and the kids and I waded around in the water. It was a lovely evening.
