Paradise In A Canyon.

Yesterday Jeff took a day to himself. He woke up at 5:00am; had his coffee and got ready for his day. What would make a man wake up at 5:00am, on PURPOSE? How about a hike on Bright Angel trail, at the Grand Canyon. He hiked down to the Indian Gardens. It is 4.9 miles ONE way...so he hiked almost 10 miles yesterday. This isn't easy peesy stuff. This is steep downhill/uphill trails, switchbacks, and crazy loose terrain. Everything Jeff loves about hiking! He took plenty of pictures along his journey, which is why I am blogging all about it. Call this post all about Law-Dog and his awesome hike! I personally have never been anywhere close below the rim of the canyon. I feel like I would die. I WOULD however, gladly take a mule ride down ;o) The pictures Jeff captured were so beautiful...that's why I posted so many of them. I want to share them! Indian Gardens is an oasis, with water flowing year round. The wildlife have taken to it, as with any outdoor lover. Jeff took a picture of the big water pipe; which is pumping up water, from Indian Gardens, to supply the ENTIRE South Rim of the Grand Canyon. He also took a picture of the electric building, supplying the power to pump that water 3,000 feet up the canyon! That stuff amazes me. Jeff took pictures of the old buildings still down there; some used as housing for the park rangers, and other buildings boarded up, but still look awesome! He encounterd a deer, watching him eat his lunch. How sweet is that?! Jeff did make it out of the canyon before night fall; and he even made it home for dinner! I am in awe of my husband, and his strength and endurance, to do such a hike. He is returning back to his ways, with the days of hiking and exploring! I hope you enjoy Jeff's pictures, of his stunning day at the Grand Canyon, in Indian Gardens.
