Christmas Time At The Canyon

I am posting our pictures from Sunday. We spent the day at the Grand Canyon, and it was empty! Talk about a great time to be there. I even took a picture of one of the parking lots, to show that it was empty. Of course there were people there, just not the normal huge, annoying crowds, one usually experiences at the Canyon. The El Tovar was decorated all Christmasy, and, that, is where we had our family Christmas card photo taken. It was a super freezing day, and we were all bundled up...but a great day at that! The last two pictures of from last night. The kid's school had their "Winter Program." It had nothing to do with Christmas, but instead Arizona's Centennial celebration. It was actually done really well. Kent's class sang a song about desert life, and bats...which brings me to telling you, Kent was playing a black bat. He would be walking around, flapping his "wings" and eating nectar from the Saguaro cactus. Cute. Samantha's class all had cowboy hats on, and had mules...to be playing...tourists, riding on a mule, down the Grand Canyon. It was so cute and funny, and Samantha had the beat of the music!
