July Vacation Days! Yeah!
Hello! Okay...I have more pictures to upload, than what I already have here; but the blog is fighting me with posting them! I will tell you about what I have (as of now). We left for our week long camping vacation on Saturday. First stop...to trade in our "Weekender" trailer, for an "Aspen Trail." We got an outstanding deal, that makes us stay in our current monthly payment, from our other trailer. Camping World was having a big big sale, and sure enough...we were able to take part of it! The outcome...a new 2012 Aspen Trail, by Dutchmen, 34 ft. travel trailer. No kidding. We went from our 24 ft. trailer, to a 34 ft. It is awesome. We have a slide out too. There are so many more features, I can't type fast enough! Lets see...push a button to open the awning; push a button to raise and lower the jack; it came with a flat screen TV and touch screen CD/DVD/radio/ipod player; bunk beds for the kids (three bunks); a master bedroom, with a sliding wood door for privacy; tons of storage; bigger living/kitchen area...the list goes on! So once we got our new trade in, we headed back home to load it all up! We were on the road by just after 3:00pm; and we were heading out to "Goulding's RV and Hotel Resort," just outside of Monument Valley. We figured it was a good half way stop, an over nighter, to break up our drive (since we left later in the day). That RV park was super nice and clean. Impressed with all that they offered! You will see our camp site, while we stayed there for one night. I have yet to take a picture of our "current" RV site, here in Durango Riverside Resort, in Durango, CO. I will get to that! Anyway, back to the pictures...while we stayed at Goulding's, I took some interior pictures of our trailer (but not of everything, I will take more as well). When we arrived to our Durango Riverside Resort, on Sunday, we set up, and took in the cool, fresh air! This is our second time staying here, and it won't be our last. We got a really great space too (in good time, I will post that too). After we got all settled in, the kids wanted to play on the playground, so we hung out there for a little time. You can see Kent got some air on that swing! Now yesterday (Monday), we headed up to our Silverton! Of course I took a couple of pictures of the steamer arriving in town. While I was outside, just standing there innocently...I got stung by the meanest bee! I guess it was attached to the side of my t-shirt; and I lowered my arm, little did I know, I would be laying my arm right on that bee! It stung me on my inner elbow, and IT HURT SO BAD! I had tears (okay I was crying). Jeff felt so bad for me. You all know how it feels to be stung by a bee. It's not fun. The longest burning sensation, and the welt was great. I survived (just barely). Now the kids are scared to death with any flying insect that comes near us. They think a bee is always near. They don't like to see their Mom freak out in pain! Jeff insisted we go buy some ice cream, because that always helps in times of need, and pain. He was right. That almond praline was tasty! I was a new woman after my ice cream. We then headed up to Stony Pass, elevation 12,060 ft. That is one of the San Juan's crazy dirt roads (actually, a tamer one compared to others Jeff had taken me on). We got the most stunning views and pictures out there! I love this mountain range. All the gold mines, and old gold towns placed randomly throughout. Speaking of random and a "what were they thinking?"...to be continued...because my story needs to be followed by the awesome pictures...Gives you all something to look forward to! So we are all alive and well, and enjoying this vacation!
