What's going on with Dad Stafford...
A little post on Dad Stafford...he had an episode Monday to where his heart rate dropped to 40, he got clammy, sweaty, white as a sheet, and almost passed out. So that is why we stuck around in California. We immediately turned around from our trip back home on Monday, to go see him at the San Gabriel Hospital. It was very scary to see him laying there in the ER, and poor Mom just tired and very worried. Brother Mark and Paula were already there, so we were all there for Dad. He had to stay over night to be monitored and tested and eventually lat out the next early evening. Thank God Mark and Paula lived just miles away because we got to stay there and that's where the kids got to hang out (they were not allowed in the hospital). Dad is doing better, but his heart rate is still in the low 40s. He doesn't have any blockages and his two stints are still working fine; so it sounds like most likely he needs a pace-maker to help his heart rate out. He has a "tilt" test hopefully tomorrow to conclude that he needs the pace-maker. We want his heart to get stronger, and that will help him be able to relax and not be so stressed to thinking "when will be the next time I pass out or go into shock?" So, we ask that all who reads this, if you can continue to pray for him. Prayers work and we know God has this all in his hands. We want Dad to stick around for a long time ;-) When we found out he could leave the hospital and he needed to rest up, that's when we decided to head up to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. We wanted to stay close enough to Dad, but also take advantage of our "free time." This was the first time we just got to go with it and see where we wanted to go! So much fun!
