Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

Our first night we stayed at the Wuksachi Village and Lodge. We got dinner at the restaurant the moment we arrived and then checked in. The room was a little suite, so perfect with the kids. However, it wasn't that "cute and quaint" feel...so after one night, we ventured on. To Kings Canyon National Park, and we stayed in Grant Grove, in a sweet little duplex cabin. A one room and bathroom cabin. Totally our style. No TV or phone, but a sweet rustic place. That is the cabin shown in the photos. There was a little restaurant in Grant Grove and it was reasonable and yummy. We had breakfast and dinner there. I recommend it. Now also, since we didn't plan on this extended stay in California, we all ran out of clean clothes. So thank God there was a laundromat at Lodgepole, which was close to Grant Grove Village. Clean clothes never felt so good! We enjoyed seeing all the Sequoia Redwoods and lots of wildlife (except the dang bears)! We hear they are all over like out of control, but we didn't see one. Another thing, it was like winter up there! There must have been feet of snow still on the ground! Crazy. They said that they received like two winters worth of snow plus more! Great for all the trees and lakes, rivers, but boy! Here it is in the middle of May, and it looked like March! We also got to experience a thunderstorm with a sleet mixture in the Sierras! In the lower elevations EVERYTHING was green and wildflowers all over. Absolutely the most beautiful part of CA. I have seen in a long time. I enjoyed the trip up to the Western Sierras, through the little farm towns and foothills. Breath taking. This was my first trip to Central California (go figure, since I was born and raised in CA.) and the Western Sierras. After our Kings Canyon, we decided to keep going towards Yosemite National Park...
