12th Anniversary Odyssey Weekend!

Hello! I'm a little behind, with blogging about our last weekend...our 12th anniversary weekend to be exact! Mom arrived at our place Friday afternoon, and stayed until Sunday morning. She stayed with us, so Jeff and I could have a dinner out, alone. Very sweet of her! So thank you Mama! Saturday morning, Kent, Mom, and I, had to wake up super early, to be at the Flagstaff High school, by 7:00 am. Jeff stayed back with Samantha, because she had her friend's birthday party to go to, and he took her there and picked her up. Kent is part of "Odyssey of the Mind," with our school; and the teams had to perform/present their projects. This was the regional competition,  for so many schools around the area, Flagstaff, Parks, Williams, Prescott, Jerome, Cottonwood, Ashfork, etc...you get the idea. Kent presented at 8:30, with his group, and did well. His group's theme was, "experiencing technical difficulties." They had to incorporate rubber bands in their projects. Kent built a car using cardboard, sticks, rubber bands and CDs for the wheels. It was pretty awesome!  After the group's presentation, Mom and I left to go bounce around town, while Kent needed to stay all day. We then came back to the school, for the awards ceremony. Kent's group won first place, for their division; AND, the only group that won for our school! This now means, Kent and his group are going to State Competition, in Tuscon, March 28th! Wow! Kent was pretty thrilled, as you can imagine. After the Odyssey event, Mom stayed home with the kiddos, and Jeff and I had our anniversary dinner at, "The Cottage Place." The restaurant is one of the top ten in Arizona, and top 100 in the country! Let me tell ya...this restaurant was super quaint and full of cozy! It actually reminded me of my family's restaurant, "The Mulberry Tree," except "The Cottage Place" prices and food were higher end. Jeff knew where to take his wife! I positively loved it! I had Canadian Lobster, with potatoes and shrimp. Jeff had filet mignon, with mashed potatoes. We both had a glass of wine, and just enjoyed every single bite. A wonderful night out to celebrate our 12 years together!
