Father's Day Weekend!
Yesterday we got to ride 4960. They had the 45 min. rides through out the day; and of course we were on it and loved it! Being on a train like that is so relaxing...I could fall asleep! We then headed down to Prescott to go to Loews. We purchased a new cabinet/sink for the guest bathroom, and a faucet. We then took a drive through the Bradshaw Mountains, with a Starbucks at hand. After our lovely drive, we had dinner at the Texas Road House. So yesterday was the main celebration for Jeff, this father's day weekend. Today...we dealt with a huge and disgusting mess. We removed the old nasty cabinet in the guest bathroom. It has always had a smell in there since we moved in. It would be stronger here and there. So Jeff rips it out, and we discovered a HUGE MICE NEST. It wasn't surprising, but it was gross and very hauntavirusy. So Jeff removed that cabinet, and I got to remove the nest with about 15 dead mice, pine needles, twigs, tons of mice feces and urine...just plain death. I have said...if I suddenly come down with flu like symptoms in the next 1-2 days...I am in big trouble! I did have a shirt tied across my face, covering my nose and mouth...but I am still breathing in that nastiness. I bleached that floor so much, and then Clorox wiped it clean...amazing how the smell disappeared. Jeff then sealed the cut outs around the pipes...to make them secure, so mice can not come in anymore. We then placed our new cabinet, and assembled the faucet..and it looks 200 times better! Once that task was complete, Jeff put up the new light outside of our little cabin. It is so cute and rustic! Love it. Late afternoon we went to Home Depot to pick out the pergo wood laminate flooring for the guest bathroom, and one day, our master bath room. We decided to have the professionals deal with the installing the new floor. Hopefully that floor can be installed in the next couple of weeks. The guy will arrive on Tuesday to make the official measurements. I am so excited! Our bathrooms have been such eye sores and stinky...now they are getting to be updated! So all in all...it was a fun, and busy with tasks, on this Father's Day weekend! Jeff is the most amazing Dad to our kids...so we are a blessed family.
