A Post-y Post.
Hello! Hello, hello! So I have been a little busy...so please forgive me with my non-posting recently! Okay, first I would like to say, I have been subbing a lot at the school! So far I have subbed twice for second grade, once for fourth grade, I was the librarian/technology sub, and yesterday and today, I was the eighth grade sub (which actually means, I also have sixth and seventh grades as well, because they rotate their schedules during the day). On Friday I will be subbing for Kent's class...the third graders. Oh cute. I love these little kids (more than I thought, let me tell ya). This working at the kid's school is fantastic! Couldn't ask for something more convenient...and the fire has been lit, with my interest in elementary education (don't worry, I am not trying to be a teacher), but rather continue to sub, and hopefully become a full-time instructor's aide. They put me on the list for that, next year; and soon, I will have to take a required exam, to make me certified in the school system, to be able to be a "certified" substitute teacher; not just an "emergency" sub (which is what I am now). Lots happening people, and it is happening quickly! Enough about me...Jeff steamed up his Dad's "American" engine over the weekend, and it steamed up beautifully! You should have seen how fast that engine was going...power, and lots of it! The kids are both doing well...we have a birthday coming up next week...for Mr. Kent! Can we say nine years old?! NINE YEARS OLD??? Say what? Yes. Our first born is turning 9 years old next Wednesday. There will be a party, in fact, a party for Kent and Samantha next Saturday. It is tough to celebrate two birthdays separately, when they are two weeks apart! So the big plan is to invite their classmates, all at the same time! YES...lets bring some crazy home! It sure will be crazy, but fun. I can remember so many birthdays, when Joshua and I each had our friends and classmates at our birthday parties; and my Mom and Dad rocked those parties! They had awesome games, and food, two cakes...great memories. With Kent turning nine, and Samantha just a few weeks of turning SEVEN...it make me think, how blessed and fortunate I am, to have my children and amazing husband...and here we all are, growing together. Next topic of discussion...Jeff went hiking yesterday, all the way up on MT. Humphrey's, elevation 12,633 ft. The last time he hiked that peak, was before we got married (so over ten years ago). Jeff still has it by golly! It kicked his butt...but he loved every minute of it. I can't even imagine hiking that peak. It is ten miles round trip, rocky and rough. Dang. Jeff said when he got up to the top...he could see about 110 miles out. That is pretty cool!
