"American Eagle," Proud To Sit So High On The Stafford Ranch

Due to the last couple of days with warm, thawing temperatures, today was the day to raise the windmill. Jeff came home. We ate our dinner. It was then time to raise the windmill. I called Adi and asked her to get on over here. It was very close to almost dark out. Adi and I roped up the windmill (to secure it) and roped it to the tractor. Jeff started backing up the tractor, as Adi and I were lifting and holding together, equally, and balancing it and slowly walking the windmill into place. It was a slow, heavy, scary process...but we did it! It landed gently to the ground. TEAM WORK! It is amazing how huge this windmill is, as it is raised so high! So I helped Jeff level all the sides, and then he staked it in the ground with the 4 ft. metal stakes (which came with the windmill), for leveled, structural, security. It is solid! It is amazing how he pounded the whole 4 ft. stakes into the ground! It was a good day to go into the ground, that's for sure. We have changing weather on the horizon, and winds like crazy, starting tomorrow. The pictures are dark, because, well, it was dark out. I wanted to take the first immediate pictures of our windmill's first stand. Tomorrow I will take some daylight ones! So happy! It is up!!!!
