Okay Okay OKAY. We just received our 23 ft. windmill this week, in parts, in eight different boxes. American Eagle Windmills, made in the USA, from Ohio. This bad boy is awesome and amazing! We can't wait until the assembly process is complete, so we can set it up in it's dedicated spot. You may be asking yourself...a WINDMILL? What for, and why? I say, Why not? No, seriously, we love windmills (always have); but this will indeed be a working windmill. Remember our pond that we are building? This windmill will be the aeration for our pond; and one day, we plan on buying a water pump, that will then make our windmill capable of pumping water. The windmill will actually be sitting up on our property, in front of where our trailer is currently sitting, and near the dirt road. It's a clear area from the trees, and picks up some good wind in that spot. We have the tubing that can reach down the hill into the pond (100 ft. I do believe). Jeff started building this thing two nights ago. I placed the red stickers on each of those 12 blades, front and back. He gets the harder stuff, assembling all those metal pieces? Good grief Charlie Brown! Now, when the windmill becomes fully assembled, and ready to grace itself on our property...that will be very interesting. This thing, when completely assembled, weighs 350 pounds, and it will be 23 ft tall. So the tractor will be helping us raise it, as I balance it and help stable it onto it's permanent spot. I will continue to update with more assembly of our windmill, as it comes. Isn't it awesome? Picture all of this, this spring and summer...a large mountain pond, 20x50, about 18 in. deep, in the main area of the pond, with a working waterfall (thanks to a water pump for waterfalls, that also just arrived this week) along the natural boulders already placed out there. Fish and pond plants enjoying the new habitat. An area of the aeration, happening, thanks to the working windmill. What? The pond needs more water? Okay...lets fill up our 1951Chevy water truck, and refresh the pond. It will become a place to sit and rest, and enjoy the sounds of a cascading little waterfall, the windmill pumping the air and creating little bubbles, Jeff's steam engine steaming by....yes! Makes you want to come out for a visit, doesn't it?! Our mountain ranch. Good times.
P.S. And for you "Doomsday Preppers," all this is part of the plan. ;o)
