Dead Horse!
We went camping to Dead Horse Ranch State Park, this weekend. It was so great getting back down there. We arrived Friday afternoon, with plenty of the day left to walk down by the Verde River. The kids and I waded in the water. So refreshing. Saturday was Verde River Day, at the Park, and just so happened...there was also a huge monsoon storm on Saturday (the last one of the season); and it went out with a bang! So much rain, that it caused a flash flood through the park. Crazy crazy. The rain came down so hard and fast...many people were stuck on the other side of the road (where the Verde River Day Festivities were being held). So I took a picture, because it was pretty cool to see all that water flow right through. We checked out the festivities right before the storm hit, and Jeff saw that sky and said, let's bail! No kidding! Jeff's so smart. I love that man. Any who...We took our walks along the trails, drove around the Verde Valley, Sedona, and up to Jerome. We've camped many times at Dead Horse...but this weekend was particularly wonderful. Grand finale with the monsoon storm...good food, sitting by the fire, marshmallows, crocheting, good times with our little family. It's what us Stafford's do best.
