A snowy drive here. A snowy drive there.

We spent our weekend eating and driving around the area...including Sedona and Cottonwood. The first picture shows an aspen grove near our home. It was just stunning and peaceful looking; and I took that on Saturday. Saturday evening we finally headed back to Freddy's for some dinner! Oh yes. I know you are all jealous (well the ones that have eaten there before). We then headed to Home Depot...got a stud finder and flickering light bulbs. Makes me think of Pirates at Disneyland. Then we decided to do our grocery shopping Saturday night...walking around Safeway, with a Starbucks at hand, and accomplished that! Come Sunday...we decided to go down to Cottonwood to our favorite antique store, called Larry's. Jeff was on a mission to find an old pot belly, or Adam's wood burning stove. For what? To install in our little cabin. He would like to steam up this winter, and have a nice warm place to sit, for breaks. He got inspired by his Dad; and his little stove in his shop. It works out really well! Jeff has a project to work on ;o) So we took the scenic drive down to Cottonwood, through Oak Creek Canyon, and Sedona. The snow levels were really low...so I took lots of snowy pictures of the canyon drive and Sedona's red rocks draped with snow. Also the Slide Rock Apple Orchard State Park. The buildings look so cool, and I always imagine living on that property, with that rock house. Awesome! We had lunch at the Coffee Pot, home of the 101 omelets restaurant! Yes...we did have omelets, and the kids had their grilled cheese and chicken strips. We then ended up at our antique store and Jeff found his stove! On our trip back home we stopped at Starbucks, and grabbed our eggnog lattes. At home, I had a roast cooking all day, waiting for us to enjoy. Oh we did! Tender and tasty. It was a great weekend, and I am looking forward to this coming weekend...it will be Christmas tree time!!!!!!!!
